AMAP Abarca CONDEMNS MURDER OF

Mexican Alliance for Self-Determination of Peoples (AMAP) expresses its strongest condemnation for the killing of Mariano Abarca Roblero, occurred the night of November 27 last Chicomuselo, Chiapas. In the same action was seriously wounded his companion Orlando Velazquez. Mariano

WATER AND RIVER Strategic Resource CUTZAMLA Vital
A year
organized as Peoples Council on Acatitlán Tierra Caliente, Mexico State, to unite and defend to the processes that have been moving strongly on the privatization of basic resources for life: water, earth and air. 2 In this Congress we will focus on Water and Cutzamala River as a vital strategic resource.
In Mexico and in the world there is a shortage of fresh water and their distribution begins to be uneven. Access to the resource and its consumption is characterized by geographical dispersion. As given in the privatization of water including hoarding and distribution through contracts and concessions granted to operators of urban services, industry and companies that monopolize the main sources of water.
Under these objectives of privatization, we are aware that water is free and we have to fight for the freedom of the water because it is the freedom of our peoples. Privatization means the organized theft of natural resources in the world by the imperialist corporations and neoliberal governments. Is a social right which we have to discuss and arrive at the best possible solutions.
Living in the Balsas region comprises hydrological Cutzamala System, which supplies the city of Mexico and is one of the systems potable water supply world's largest. Because the amount of water transported annually is 480 hm 3. and large problems that will have to supply, we find it necessary to convene the peoples and affected communities to meet this challenge and express our commitment to work weaving together and mutual solidarity that is needed to defend life.
