address the climate crisis (ES-MEX) and call "Climate Dialogue: Meeting of the voices of the people and movements over the climate crisis" bring together civil society actors and social movements interested in discuss the main themes of the climate crisis, promote mobilization, information exchange and joint education and outreach activities of the forthcoming 16th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Conference on Climate Change (COP-16), to be held from November 29 to December 10, 2010 in Cancun, Mexico.

is a plural and open space, which are expressed different views, strategies and political cultures, while articulated on the basis of a clear political position for common action.

Climate Dialogue and the ES-MEX see consensus building as a process of dialogue and frank and open discussion, recognizing that both the national and international initiatives and groupings are to act in the process of the COP-16 and beyond. We conceived as part of the Mexican social movement and as such, we are ready to dialogue with other national and international initiatives to establish the necessary agreements to unify the action of national and international civil society. We have therefore launched the call to "Climate Dialogue: Meeting of the voices of the people and movements over the climate crisis," to help build a platform for national and international civil society towards the COP-16 and in actions that are organized in Cancun and elsewhere in the country and the world.

The ability to share activities and strategies based on its basic policy stance in front of the main issues and actors who perform around the global climate crisis and the willingness to give voice to civil society by placing the consensus in the center. Simultaneously promotes the debate on the issues and strategies in which there are different ideas and positions in order to deepen the analysis and exchange of ideas and information. OUR

basic stance.

Climate Dialogue and the ES-MEX believe that climate change is not merely an environmental issue but is a reflection of a global crisis with multiple dimensions: economic, social, cultural and political. The problem is a model production and consumption unjust and unsustainable, the primary cause of climate change and social inequality, poverty, exclusion, gender inequality and environmental degradation.

As citizens, we recognize that we have a part of the responsibility for global environmental degradation and damage to the Earth, and assume the need to act accordingly, exercise our rights as citizens directly. However, we stress the need to address the structural causes of the climate crisis is, as stated above, the model of production and consumption and key players that are highly industrialized economies as is recognized by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The resounding failure of the COP-15 and the "agreement" in Copenhagen show that governments are far from committing to a real reduction in emissions and undertake the changes needed to be the root of the problem. It is therefore urgent and necessary to increase the strength of the people and civil society organized to provide a real solution to the climate crisis
urge
The proposal is not limited to short-term action in international meetings, in this case the COP -16, but the construction of local and national agendas and their articulation with global movement for climate justice. This involves multiple and decentralized processes that include the efforts of many organizations and movements in all states and regions of the country and around the world.

propose that it is necessary to analyze, understand and return the documents and statements of civil society emerged in international events, including the Treaty made at Río'92 'In cities, towns and villages just, democratic and sustainable' and the Declaration of Peoples on Climate Change emerged in Cochabamba in April.

promote the analysis of the positions of the various governments and actors involved in the negotiations and discussions, but argue that Mexican joint movements can only come from the efforts of local organizations. As a space for civil society, we are autonomous governments and political parties.

Organizations that promote this initiative, we bring our links with international organizations, many of whom are part-to build a common platform in which Mexican and host organizations, provide a space to the global movement in the process towards Cancun.

2. The making of a new session of the International Court of Justice Climate as an international initiative to join us and consider a privileged space for Mexican movements international and report their cases.

3. Social mobilization to express the voice in the streets of peoples and social movements by organizing marches, rallies, sit-ins, cultural and educational events. It is desirable to organize marches in many parts of the country and the world through concerted action on the same date.

4. The articulation between local, national and international geographic space and generate a calendar of events distributed in a unified way to provide the diversity of ideas, views, strategies and actions. This implies a record of attendees and events self-convened to seek cover requirements basic logistical initiatives accommodating different national and international action in Cancun.

5. The information and broadcasting, and in the media of the proposals and actions to give visibility to the civil society, strengthen the educational and strengthen the local / national and international-production work through statements, documents, newsletters press releases, etc.

respect the decision of organizations that promote mobilization and advocacy strategy "inside-out" of the COP-16, but we do not accept any initiative holds as the sole representative of civil society.
